We Changed our Website with You in Mind

Some of our long-time customers have asked us why we implemented the significant changes to our website when they were so comfortable with the interface of our previous design and layout. That is more than simply a fair question, and we suspect many others have thought of the question without taking the step to ask. So, with that in mind, we decided a worthy response is appropriate.

Yes, we have made some significant changes to appliedhealth.com. There are two primary driving factors that helped us decide to commit to change: online security to protect your identity and personal information, and company growth requirements.

First, we know that as our company continues to grow, we want more control over the flexibility of our technology platforms. The changes we have employed are key ingredients to maintaining self-reliance on the foundation of our business model for online order tracking and real-time, mission critical applications. Uhhh... What all that technical mumbo-jumbo means is that we needed better control over our website and the database that controls it. From your perspective (our customer), our changes will allow you to log into your account on the site and see real-time status of your orders, or change your shipping information, or be eligible for time-sensitive special offers, or a host of other programs and features we have yet to think of.

And the second reason for changing our website - but by far, the most important reason - has to do with the whole security issue. With all the awareness and concern for Identity Fraud and online security, we have always pursued and exercised every precaution at our disposal to protect our database that contains your personal information. And as we have always stated clearly in our “Privacy Policy”, we do not - and will not - share, loan, barter or sell any of your personal information for any reason, purpose or promotion. Period!

This commitment to protecting information also includes something as seemingly sublime as an email address for anyone who has submitted a request to be added to the mailing list to receive our newsletter. I rarely use the word “hate”, but in this case it applies: I hate Spam, and I am sure you do too. And unfortunately, we have seen evidence where Spammers are using our website name as a cover to imply that their Spammed offers are originating from us. They are not! This is a clever - but despicable - tactic employed by these slimy-types to get you to open an email you assume might be valid. This is a form of identity fraud, and I hate it. Since 1997, we have worked diligently to earn your trust and confidence, and the thought of a misguided scourge of society borrowing on our name to coax you to open a distasteful email just makes me crazy.

This would also be a good opportunity to let you know that we choose not to store your credit card number after a transaction. We know this can sometimes be inconvenient, since it requires you to enter your credit card information with each order. But, for now, we just felt that most people would prefer the comfort of knowing their card number is not hanging around someplace when there is really no need for it. Of course, an exception to this rule is for our customers who choose to be on a monthly ship program for the convenience of knowing they will not run out of the products they most require. In those cases, we do protect the security of the credit card information with the same intensity that we protect other personal data.

So, therein lie the main reasons for the changes you see. Please keep in mind, the next time you become frustrated with needing to remember *yet another* login and password, this is being done to help secure your personal data. We are actively employing the latest and most proven technology available to ensure your safety. So sleep peacefully... We do.
