"There once was a time when I
thought 'skin care' simply meant I should yank the jumping-cholla needles out of
my arms before the barbs swelled up to the size of shark hooks. If
you wait too long, what should be the simple act of extraction turns into an
exercise with needle-nose pliers and some yelping like a little girl.
If you grow up riding motorcycles in the Southwest desert, you learn to avoid
some of the hazards pretty quick. Unfortunately, one important
lesson sometimes can take years to learn.
It wasn't until about 10 years ago
that I started noticing a lot of sun damage on my arms. For a while, I
blamed all the ill-fated excursions through the cactus fields and mesquite trees
while hanging on for dear life to a runaway scoot. But eventually, I came
to realize that after decades of riding without sleeves, I had enough sun
exposure to cause some damage.
After we began this company, and started taking our own products, I noticed some
changes in my skin texture. My arms were less dry, and the tone became more consistent.
As we learned more about the effects of the products - and learned more about
