Egg White

Egg White

Description

Egg white is the albumen of the egg, usually of the hen's ovum. This is an excellent source of complete protein and riboflavin, while containing negligible amounts of lipids. Egg white also contains good levels of potassium.

Because egg white has no cholesterol and minimal lipids, unlike whole eggs and egg yolk, it is not necessary to restrict intake of egg white as severely in Low Fat Diet (Pritikin) as with whole eggs.
