Bacterium

Bacterium

Bacterium is a general term for any unicellular prokaryotic microorganism commonly multiplying by cell division (fission) and which is typically contained within a cell wall. It may or may not be motile, parasitic or pathogenic. The plural form of the word is bacteria.
