Digestive System

The digestive system includes all the organs and glands associated with ingestion and digestion of food. This includes the esophagus, gallbladder, liver, large intestine, small intestine, pancreas, salivary glands, pharynx, teeth and tongue. The purpose of the digestive system is to convert food into chemical substances that can be absorbed and assimilated, fuelling the body.
