Description
The prune is a type of plum, specifically, one cultivated to be dried; also, this type of plum after it has been dried. Prunes are a good source of iron, fiber, potassium, provitamin A carotenoids, magnesium, copper, and B-6. Prunes contain the natural laxative diphenylisatin and can be helpful in resolving constipation.
Dried prunes are available throughout the year.
