Description
Chive, the small, bulbous vegetable Allium Schoenoprasum, in the same family as the onion, garlic and leek. This vegetable is mainly used to enhance the flavor of other foods (e.g., baked potatoes).
On an equal weight basis, it contains more vitamin A and vitamin C than broccoli; however, as chives are only used in small amounts, they contribute negligible amounts of nutrients.
