Description
The immune system, which defends us against disease, is dependent upon a number of nutrients including zinc, vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin A, iron, copper, folic acid and vitamin B-12. Amino acids such as arginine and alanine have also been demonstrated to be important in augmenting the immune system.
Based upon these principles, the Immune Strengthening Diet is developed for those individuals with poor constitutions or for those fighting off infection. This diet has a high nutrient density and therefore exceeds the nutrient guidelines of the RDA's. This diet is calorie-rich and therefore could encourage weight gain if an individual is not regularly exercising.
