Appendix
The appendix is a long, narrow tube which starts from the apex of the large intestine and may pass in several directions. It varies in length (1 to 10 inches) and is located in the lower right side of the abdominal cavity. The appendix has no known function. It is theorized the appendix may have functioned in the digestion of cellulose in ancient man.
