Bladder
The bladder is a collapsible sac with elastic walls located anterior to the rectum in the pubic region. Its function is to store and expel urine. Two ureters bring the urine from the kidneys to the bladder. The urethra, found at the inferior-most point of the bladder, leads to the exterior of the body and expels urine. The release of the urine is controlled by a sphincter muscle. When the sphincter relaxes, it allows urine to pass into the urethra and out of the body.
