Bilirubin
Bilirubin is an orangish bile pigment formed by the breakdown of heme pigments mainly from reticuloendothelial cells. Bilirubin is carried by the blood to the liver where it is changed chemically and excreted in the bile through the duodenum. High concentrations may result in jaundice.
