Alterative
A substance which stimulates changes or alterations of metabolism and tissue function of a defensive nature in the presence of disease. This action occurs by modifying and supporting nutritive and eliminative functions, furthering metabolism, stimulating the lymphatic system and promoting absorption of inflammatory deposits.
